Knickernappies™ was started 4 years ago by a mom named Shannon, who sold the business to Heather in May 2006. Heather lives in Eugene, Oregon, with her husband and daughter. She started her journey with cloth diapering when her daughter was just a few weeks old and developed a persistent rash. To her astonishment, she happened upon a cloth diapering form that suggested cloth could solve her daughter's rash problems. She caved in and bought 2 diapers, but soon fell in love. The rash went away and they bought a whole stash of cloth. Heather started a cloth diaper retail store (Cloth Diaper Outlet). After almost a year, she and her husband decided it was time to move into manufacturing. She bought Knickernappies™ and the rest is...well, the future!
Heather doesn't actually do much sewing anymore, since Knickernappies™ has has grown. All cutting and sewing are done in Oregon by people that Heather personally knows and loves. Terry and Julie met and married while working together for a production sewing company in Oregon. When that company outsourced to Mexico, Terry and Julie bought some equipment and started their own company. Most days its just the two of them in the shop. Terry mostly cuts and keeps the equipment in tiptop shape while Julie sews.
Knickernappies™, Loopy Dos and Super Dos have gotten rave reviews on Diaper Pin, Mothering.com, and other diapering forums.
